Performance against a benchmark
The performance chart shows your portfolio’s return from 1 day to its full history (1D, 1W, 1M, YTD, 1Y, MAX) and compares it with an index of your choice: MSCI World, MSCI World Islamic, S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 or FTSE MIB. The return is calculated so that buying and selling don’t distort the result. Below the chart you see the performance of each holding.
Dividend forecast
For each holding Rootfolio estimates the next dividends from their history and from dates already announced, using the shares you own today: a month-by-month chart for this year and next, with dividends received and expected, and a table with payment date, amount per share and total.

Frequently asked questions
Where do prices come from?
From Yahoo Finance, every two hours from 8 am to 10 pm (CET), for listed stocks, ETFs, ETCs and crypto. If a security has a different symbol on Yahoo you can set it, and you can always correct a price by hand.
Do I have to connect my broker?
No. Enter your buys, sells and dividends: Rootfolio works out quantities, average cost, gains and losses. It works with any broker.
Does it handle different currencies?
Yes: each transaction has its own currency and exchange rate, and values are converted into your account’s base currency.
Can I split holdings between family members?
Yes: each transaction has an owner, and positions and average cost are calculated per owner.
